One of the longest standing and most popular trail running events in Mauritius, the Ferney Trail was inevitably on the calendar this year and took place on September 15th in ideal conditions. I’m really glad I was finally able to shoot this race, as clashes prevented me to do it in the previous years. The mission: to catch participants on the 50km (2,500m D+) and 20km (1,150m D+) courses, with the first key location being the Lion Mountain at sunrise – already a personal favorite. As if that was not rewarding enough, the rest of the day was spent in the precious Valley of Ferney, home to the Mauritian Kestrel and a sanctuary for many endemic flora and fauna. Enough said; get more info through the links and watch the pictures do the talking!
Make sure to visit the Ferney Trail facebook page for the full albums from me and my colleagues! Big congrats to the organisers and participants, I hope to see you there next year!
